I write not for the warrior who boast superior,
or for the glorious winner who laughs at a beginner,
or for the victorious champion that claims a lion.
I write for ones who where almost there,
those who faced the challenge and sweat the goals,
those who face the agony of defeat, the pain of loss,
and then face the humiliation of failure.
I write for the committed, the courageous and the weak,
the challenger and the not-so-lucky defeated.
Its clear winning is inevitable, losing is not different.
Past glories and its heroes are being remembered, but forgotten are the challengers that made the heroes.
There is no glory without victory, neither is their loss.
I pray the lord a place to keep for those almost heroes,
second place or even third, whom he destined not first.
I write for my friend who strive to win though hopeless,
not the colorful winner who shows him he is winless.
I write my friend...I write for you and me
