Waziri, we never had a good leader before, Buhari was never a good leader, he rule by force put all is enermy in prison,.. We are an evil nation would deserve evil leader, and average nigerian is evil... until we change we would always have bad men ruling nigeria... Can you image that some people in nigeria are bold to come out and support IBB.. I BB was an evil man for 8 years, he was the worst leader nigeria ever had. now he want to be president again, over the people he did not respect the vote and decision.. this man close nigeria University for many years.. Killed is enermy and steal nigeria money with his friend and some people from the north want him to be president again,... If you vote an evil man to power , the would rule over you with the same evil is his heart.. ..
All of the people who are runing now, should not be there, maruwa stole lagos money to start Arbaka...
If you are talking about a material person from the north, please El Rufia and Dr Bala Usman of ABU, should be the people running, but the bunch of people who lack ideas... What does IBB have in his head that he want to resolve Nigeria economy, he could not do it for 8 years.. Buhari lack the education and leadership skill to move nigeria forward... Muruwa and his Areas boy would steal money.. Like us try El rufia or Bala Usman.

I just listen to today Nigeria news on radio on this site... check it out..

QuoteFor Waziri, Nigerian leaders of yester years are better than the current crop of personalities. I.e you can't compare people like sardauna, murtala, shagari and aminu kano for instance to Wabara, Anyim, Shinkafi, Mahmud waziri , Jubril aminu and co.

Yes that is it but how about including people like Buhari in the list of our present crop of leaders? The logic is we had leaders in the past that were bad and some were good. And we have leaders now that are bad and those that are good. But the strory is the same that even good people who led Nigeria in the past failed and, God save my spirit, even those that are good now if they assume leadership in Nigeria will fail woefully. The problem is not the badness or goodness of our leaders but the Nigerian Nation itself... as you rightly observed.

Also I do not think linoger meant to say OBJ shouldn't be judged. He only observed a major flaw in our political structure which always force good leaders to give out Excellence for Mediocrity in the name of political EXPEDIENCY in their bid to keep the nation one.

Yeah Waziri Buhari is hte man i hold at high esteem
o try and fail is atleast to learn. That will save one the inestimable loss of what might have been (positive or negative).

sallama.

I think we are loosing sight of what's at stake here. That is for power to rotate back to the North. The issue started to get convoluted when some misunderstood my suggestion of voting for Buhari.

I made it clear in my earlier posts that Northerners can achieve this power rotation thing constitutionally. If they can help others do it (putting OBJ in office) then they can certainly do it now.

Many have said this is unconstitutional. I do not know for sure why they say this because there isn't any basis for making this comments- atleast if one were referring to the current agitations by Northern youths.

My understanding of powershift is to reach a consensus within the major parties , not for the nation as a whole, that only people from certain region or religion can vie for office at a given time.  People seem to misunderstand that this power rotation thing is a PDP affair. And, since the inception of the party, zoning offices has been its practice. [Eg all PDP chairmen are to be from the North Central zone and Secretary of the Party from the East].

One other thing to note is that even if it is canvassed that power ought to rotated, by party members, then this is not sufficient reason for any party member to defer joining the race.  Rimi is a good example here. He, and Gemade, contested the primaries against OBJ even though the party has resolved to allow the earlier powershift to the SouthWest to remain. Anyone one who thinks of this being unfair can simply switch parties to one which will accomodate his views.

I will say of all the replies to this thread, only mallamt's deserves honorable mention. He  said,  what will powershift do to the teeming masses unemployed, hungry and starved? This is a very legitimate question that needs to be answered by the agitators for this powershift thing.

I have also said in my earlier post that,  The main challenge... is who will emerge as the consensus candidate for the North in 2007?  Meaning: it is not be a question of where (the north) the president should come from rather it should be that of who should the president be?

As of yet, this isn't clear.

again, my opinion.

Dudu, you are wrong that  power should shift to Hausa/fulani, and you are wrong that it can be done constitutional.. We can not put that in the constitution... Leaders shoould be voted for not base on where they come from but on merit, what you want is that we sacrifice merit for people who do not merit it.. this is wrong.. Let the best candidate win...

You claim that the Hausa/fulani put Obasanjo in govt, that may be truth, that should also mean that Obasanjo is serving the term of those who put him there, the turn of the Hausa/fulani... If the yoruba did not vote for Obasanjo how could he represent them, or be doing their term...

How on earth would a person represent one part of a country, and you except the other part to just agree, this is why 99% of the people in the south want a break up of the country, if  you do not change your altitude we would be back to the days of Orka, Someone again would come and remove the Hausa/fulani away from nigeria, for us to stop that, we have to look for a president even if he is from Igall or tiv, or Edo, should be accept by all, not You people calling for powershift to the Hausa/fulani...

We should pick someone that fear God, not look at where he comes from.. Change your altitude towards power, the hausa/fulani have control Nigeria govt for 40 years, allow other to have a term of power  even for 4 years, if not, we would see danger and problem again, and they would divide Nigeria this time or a civil war would come up, let us avoid that
and give other a chance to run too. What have the Hausa/fulani have to show for controlling govt for 40 years... NOTHING.

I have seen so many variations of my screen name to the extent that i now don't even know if people are talking to me or others. my screen ID is myadudu. It does sound like dudu or yadudu or yadu .... but it isnt one of them. It is MYADUDU.
please take note........

On my honoring someone based on his comment, all I can say is that my comments have merit. And that I am commending him is not contingent upon his support for Buhari. What he has said was, only people who can help are to be chosen not to chosen based on ethnicity or religion.

Quote from: "mallamt"The reasons why I will agree with those that suggest buhari as a next president of nigeria is not for his origins (being from the north).  We must avoid reducing what he has done and what he can do for nigeria as a regional or northern matter.  In my veiw, when you look at the condition of our country and the present possible candidates for presidency, one can easily say he is the only person amongst the present possibles who is firm enough and honest enough to stop the decay in the country.  His ability is not because he is from the north or he is a muslim, so we should please look at his qualities rather than his origins.

What have buhari really done.. please tell me buhari achievement...I would love to know..
