well,
all i got to say is that,
the older generation has wrecked the future of our and the future generation, we have un-electrified villages, no security, international problems,no visible future, tribal problems, educational backwardness  money problem, and the most dangerous of all selfish political leaders  infact guys i have this feeling deep beneath in me that "your country is rich only when the tallakawa's are rich"
                 please someone save my country.

i personally do not see any reason to rejoice since we have even killed what our elders in the 50s and 60s achieved.
ALLAH YA TAIMAKE MULKIN MU

The topic under discussion (NIGERIA AT 42) and Malam Abubakar M. Abdullahi's write-up of 02/10/2002 on the problem of leadership in the country, reminds me of a related incident that took place at Saudi Arabia in 1994 (when Nigeria was at 34).

The episode goes as follows: I traveled to the country on Hajj operations and happened to meet with some pilgrims from Yemen, one of them asked me from which country are you? I reluctantly answered, from N-I-G-E-R-I-A, then the man quickly said. NI-GE-RI-A!!!  'RICH COUNTRY WITH BAD LEADERS'  I try to defend the allegation but to no avail as the man in question keep on saying, don?t hide the fact it is true.

AMEEEEEEEN.

well.... as a nigerian... 8)

i'm glad i got the chance to have long lastin' friendship wit' people from different tribal/ethnic groups in nigeria...

and i'm glad i dont have any stereotypical image of them... and i'm glad i got the chance to be friends with them and remove any negative stereotype they had of fulani, muslims, and northerners...

i've learnt to live in harmony... and i understand the struggle our forefathers went thru to keep the country united...

Long Live Nigeria... and God Bless... ;D

Fellow Nigerians,
It`s october, yes our independence, and we bearly look it up as
som`n...but today my friends, I call you to this:
                                                         October 1,
2002

Nigeria, never a nation always illusions
Illusions of a nation that never was
intellectual illusions it ever was
Illusions for Niger-area, a region it was
my call today is to make these illusions a "was"
my call is to rebuilt the Niger-area into Nigeria
my call is to celebrate Nigeria after 42 years
my call is to built a patriotic acme nation with visions,
missions, future, pride and a spirit
a nation united for all that it is
and what power shall grow from it's midst
Niger-areans might run, dine, ignore and fool another
by truth they fool each other, coz they have no power
and definately an unconscious pride.
So today I call onto the Niger-areans to be Nigerians
to stand up high and celebrate the birth of a new Nigeria
for once make it possible to be proud of one another
Today, I stand up high to celebrate Mother Nigeria,
because I have no where else to go but to the mother
Nigeria still has hope on you and me, we`ve got each other
So I call onto you to celebrate... celebrate my friends,
my family, my pride, my Nigeria.

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY NIGERIA

Heed this call and be blessed, or send this to as many Nigerians as
possible
if we might find one with a spirit. It`s the least you can do to the
motherland. Thank you and God bless Nigeria.
