u can imagine sum babes trying hard 2 cover the newly permmed hair thus ba ma a zancen hijab......
Fyne dyme, I didn't say Football is haram, Iam trying to figure out situations where games or other activities become questionable simply because a person is unable to perform his prayers (on tyme) while consumed in it.
Thanks for that Hadith Gimbiya, thus no BLACK WIG should be used for any attachment.
FDQ, thanks for that explanation about ''throat thingy'', AAAH, u don't believe it grows? Kin ta jin labarin wani abu wai shi 'makoko'? lol

Quote[color=orangehafsy.. abeg... explain the difference b/w hot comb and perming?... i dont get why one is haram and the other halal...

she signs......I would love to explain, but what good will it do to some one who denys the first principle of this? Je ki tambayi malamai wajen hudu you can weigh their reponses and then belive on which ever. As ma blad said its haram I have also heard it is. So either believin in or out...makes d same difference. I am not trying to convince, so idan baki yadda ba nio firobilem, why should we argue. Idan munje gabansa I will come out & ask....oh Allah have you not said thou shaul not use thee hot combs? 7 then you can jump out & say but why is it haram & explain to me, kinga munfijin dadai daga ubangijin mu ko? Allah said you should forever live what you have doubt in..so idan baki yadda leave it hon! ;) He go tell us on that final day! 8)

Assalamu Alaikum,
To me you are all right, the whole thing relates to ones intension. I think there is nothing in lipsticks, permin etc. if and if it is not going to be exposed to those who should not see and it is not done with the intension of changing God's creation like....did. So ladies look in the best way possible but to your husbands only....

Interesting discussion,

As we may all know In the Muslim world of today it is easy to classify jurists into three classes: The conservatives, the moderates and the modernists. These groups always look at the Muslims and rest of the world from differing cone-angles thereby varying in the way the give Fatwa in the matters that affect their ?flocks?. I would want to believe that is why Kamil will hear a fatwa here from a well-respected Mallam that sanctify a certain act or feeling and find the repudiation of the same claim from another learned Mallam. It shouldn?t be confusing in anyway. What is needed of us young mind to do is only to understand the basics of theology from thence I think we can go ahead to identify with a world-view we find peace of mind in and can sufficiently depend.

For myself I don?t think female voice is an Aura because many a times as recorded by Ibn Hisham in his seerat al nabawiy and tabaqat al-kubra by ibn Ishaq you will find where Fatima addressed a crowd of believers in mosques. And also it was recorded that Umar(R.A) once sought to set limit on women?s mahr (dowry) during his Khilafah but ?a woman from behind cried out reprimanding him in public which he succumbed and Identified with the veracity of her claims? . These and several incidences before and after the demise of the Holy Prophet confirmed in strongest terms that woman?s voice is not an Aura. In fact that is why today my favorite singer remains the song goddess: Celine Dion and Uwani Zakire among Hausa singers.

This does not mean that those who think it to be an Aura are not right in there Ijtihaad. I presume that they are using specific circumstances in order to prevail on general circumstance and that is allowed in (usul) science of jurisprudence. In some specific circumstances woman tends to speak with the aim of staging a seductive process and by our study of human psychology we know that woman?s voice carries within it some huge amount of sexual spell sufficient to lure one into complying. In such situations it becomes Haram for her to speak. Even then if a woman wants to win a man for good (may be she sees some body she wants for spouse) I think I can find enough excuse for her to lure him into loving her with sweet words.

With regard to perming, hot ?combing or putting a wig I think everything depend on the circumstance and the reason for doing such. Men like varieties by nature. I spoke sometimes with my cousin sister who is learned a lot and I reasoned with her when she told me about how she used different wigs in order to give her husband different faces from which he will never be bored talk less of looking for another woman outside. I hailed her and added ?Provided that the wigs allow her to perform ablution with maximum efficiency.?

On foot ball which as submitted by FDQ I think foot ball is too much a triviality to be compared to surfing the net. And Islam frowns at too much indulgence in trivialities. Instead of watching football one can be more useful to his fellow Muslim brethren by reading Qur?an or watching movies that will enrich his intellectual faculty and  provide for his armory of ideas. But those who take it to be a profession since the world are not all Muslim. Then I will say we need the money to build mosques and get more trappings Fi sabeelillah.

Wallahu A?alam.

personally, i think thats stupid!.. i wont be quick to agree with cases like this...
i read somewhere that "dressing in the sense of the opposite sex is wrong.... BUT if it is to please ur husband.. do so." and i say BULL CRAP!
in ur cousins case.. shes doing the same... PLZZZZ warn her and tell her to STOP!!!!
women who wear wigs and extensions are cursed.. or so i read. ::)
TELL HER THAT HER HUBBY SHOULD BE MORE INTERESTED IN THE PERSON SHE IS.. THAN WHUT SHE LOOKS LIKE...
its not like she's forcing him to reduce his belly or dress in pink frills...
make her feel good about herself. instead of tryin to please him unnecessarily.... to try and get him with looks? thats SO SAD!.. so by the time she hits 60 she'll do plastic surgery for him?
*hisssssss........a beg....

naaw man, it aint. the main reason why people say its haram is... it stops u from performing regular prayers... and nowadays, many things stop u from performing the prayers on time, sooo.... we juss have to be stronger in faith!

hafsy.... hot comb is not haram... i know that for a fact..
if any of the two had to be haram "perming and hot comb".. it would have to be "perming" because perming is permanent.. and hot comb, all u have to do is wash ur hair and its back to normal...
none of them are haram.. cuz i see no DIRECT harm it causes.

No FDQ, the main reason why football is termed by some as haram and rightfully so, is because you have a bunch of men/women with their aura (nakedness) exposed running all over a pitch. Anything above the knee and below the belly botton of a man is termed as his nakedness, and i think it is common knowledge what constitutes the aura of a woman.

As you rightfully said though, there are loads of other things that take away our time that arent haram, time management with regards to prayers and other religious obligations has more to do with discipline and the strength of ones faith.

Waziri

FDQ you may be right in your own right but the truth in the science of jurisprudence remains one. that is why we said this earlier:

We r indeed happy to find that some other great and more experienced jurists share our opinion with regard to putting on a wig by a woman. Certainly they also spoke in the light of their knowledge of psychology as understood by Farida my cousin. Those who may want verify our claims can check Fathul bari and Al-halal wal Haram by Qardawi.

With regard to football also I believe there are more advanced reasons more than just issue of timing when it comes to prayers and part of these reasons is one of the trivial nature of foot ball as a pastime.

Well, It is still a good one Fyne.

Queen,

Most assuredly I will pass across ur message to her but to add on to your findings. I too am inclined towards  agreeing wit u that putting on a wig is Haram when the intention is to hoax or deceive or appear fake. But in her case I don't think she fakes... I think she and her husband all understand it to be a sort of ornamentation.

And in regard to being natural or loving one for himself... I believe It is the reality of life which all of us will come to terms with as we grow in age and experience: Humanbeings do not stay themselves always,  we naturally put on an impression or action in the hope of securing more attention.

Finally, Now as a dedicated brother I tell u this hoping that it will help u in your matrinonial relationship. MAN'S WEAKNESS as regards to women is not their sharp intellect but their appealing PHYSIQUE; while women remain soft for words man remains soft for what is physical about women. I think I will post something like "what women want in men and vice versa"

Farida indeed means Unique or DISTINGUISHED and true to God my cousing is such unique as U r. She has never scored less 80% in any subject and 4 ova 20 yrs now I learn a new thing anyday I see her. She has commited Qur'an to her memory and some 2000 hadith. I think I should get her E-mail u. I believe u will be useful to each other since u share something in common, atleast when two elephants meet....
I pray I will not be the grass that will be around to suffer that day.

I m most grateful

ooooooh.... that juss pushed my button.. amma, i wont say anything mean... ::)

THERE'S A REASON WHY ALLAH PREFERS A WOMAN TO BE COVERED IN A MODEST FASHION.... SO MEN WILL NOT VIEW US AS OBJECTS...
but if u prefer to marry a woman because of her looks and kwalya.. proceed... u'll be very disappointed.. because u dont expect her to be "made-up" 24/7... and by the time she hits old age nko?

its the intellect, the character, the wisdom, simply the beauty WITHIN that counts...

apealing physique ke? physique ni? i will NEVER (insha Allah ?;D) try to modify anything about meeh.. to fit "his" perfect image of beauty...
he can go siddown for one corner.. i nevah bother 'am.. why he go bother meeh....
