Exerpts from a newspaper article:
Khaleej Times Tue, 1st April 2003.

PARIS - Guillaume Dasquie, editor of intelligence Online and a specialist on Al Qaeda, claims that the 2 principal figures of the US Defense Dept., Rumsfeld and his under secy Wolfowitz, have designated Yemen and Nigeria as the next targets of the American 'war on terrorism'.

In the current affairs magazine, Minotaure, Guillaume Dasquie reveals the reasons behind the choice of these 2 countries. US strategists fear that if nothing is done soon, local hotbeds of Al Qaeda activists could take over control of the immense oil reserves of these 2 oil producers, he says.

He also reveals that according to his American sources, the US has decided to redefine the concept of state sovreignty, "at least as its been conceived in the concert of nations for several centuries".

He cites a little-know speech given on Jan 14th, at Georgetown Uni in Washington by Richard Haas, the policy planning director at the US dept of state, in which the theoretician puts forth the idea of 'faltering sovereignty', according to which a country will be seen 'in default' with regards to it 'international responsibilities' if it were to engage in 3 activities:

- The support of terrorist movements
- The possession and maintenance of WMD's and
- Repeated violations of the human rights of its citizens

"If" writes Dasquie, "a country is found guilty of engaging in the 3 activities defined by Richard Haas, then the previledges that flow out of their national sovereignty would be 'cancelled' and would render legitimate the recourse to military intervention by an outside power, most likely the US".

The advantage of such an idea, says Dasquie, "is that the military intervention that would be brought about would not technically be considered as war, for the simple reason that given the prior decision to 'cancel' the sovereignty of the state in question, there would no longer be anybody to which to address a declaration of war, or with whom to sign an armistice. In terms of the legal interpretation of the US, the operation in question would simply constitute a manoeuver intended to resolve security to an entity that would no longer be a state of law. No more no less"

aw c'mon.. we backed qadaffi when tha arabs deserted him! qadaffi used to be racist.. but now he proudly claims to be "african".. because were the only ones who supported him (we as in african govts and etc etc)

look how europe and US were pressuring africans to isolate mugabe... but the african leaders said.. NO!

even during the french/african summit.. zimbabwe was going to be excluded. african leaders said..."if mugabe aint goin'.. we aint".. and mugabe was invited after all..

u have to give africans props when it comes to being united! apartheid is a whole different thing.. and the african leaders did what they could to help out during that era...
dont be too picky... i no wan' argue!

point is... Africans are a lot more united than arabs! if they plan to attack an african country.. its trouble!

you know,
when i was in JSS 2
we had this social-studies teacher called Mallam Usman.
The great fulani is one of those that shaped my views on international Politics.
wehn we came to a topic called OAU
(organisation of african unity)
he called it bluntly a "toothless bulldog"
"it can shout but it cant bite."
yes we supported mugabe.

1)but were we supposed to?
thats the first question.

2)Libya has faced santions for God knows how many years.
have we boycotted european and american products in response?
thats question number two.

3) With an ever growing growing population of illiterates, dont you think our beloved continent wouldnt embrace the US?
go out and as your nieghbour if he/she wants to be in the US and the answer will be YES!
dont you think resistance will be undermined by the masses?
thats Question number three.

stop mafarki'ing

How funny! USA attacking nigeria. its possible I suppose, but very, very unlikely. In the event of such a thing happening, be rest assured that the NA will be routed in  less than 100 hrs and then we, the civilians, will refugeea(te) to Niger republic and perhaps Tchad rep.
Anyway, on a more serious note, talking of african unity being stronger than Arab Unity is untrue but likely. The Arabs are a hopeless lot, apologies to arab sympathisers. They have missed one key factor that set them on top of the World once- Islam. Pre Islamic Arabia is, just like today, a closed, lazy and unproductive society. Islamic vigour coupled with the organizational awareness Salat inculcates in the society gave the Arabs the desired tools to make their marks on the world stage. Perhaps they can achieve such a feat?................. Only through islamization of culture.
Africans.............................what about africans. I must say my knowledge of African milestones is stunted. What i can say is that we once had the Islamic ruler of Mali (songhay empire i think) Mansa Musa, who was devout, and had a rich kingdom with lots of scholarship and learning  courts (sankore and timbuktu).
Are africans united? NO, not ever and perhaps not in the forseeable future. Dont ask me why. just read the bio data of our leaders and see for how long they have ruled, or intend to rule?  Also run down to the nearest British council library and request a copy of an African magazine of yester-years. If on the 23 or March of every year you do not read about a conflict some where in africa, then as Hadejia people would say " a baka buhun tusa" or " you just won a sack full of gas".
the intermetent conflict in africa by africans demonstrates in the clearest of manifestations the dis unity amongst statelets amongst states let alone states in an international setting.
I sum by saying this ........................... Nothing guess?

Well.
fulanicious explained it all.
you see sadly most of our african nations have almost the same geopolitical system like ours.
that is christians by the ocean side and muslims towards the north.
in case of an invasion,
just give yourself a moment to face the harsh reality.
