kai gayu, this thread is strictly for Bob Marley, i will request
the moderator to remove any post found not related to the
Legendary Marley.

I welcome stories, lyrics, analysis of how he died and other
memorable things about the legend.

Let me open up with the lyrics of my best song "Stir it Up"

read and digest, while you can "have your say" on the lyric.

Stir it up; little darlin', stir it up. Come on, baby.
Come on and stir it up: little darlin', stir it up. O-oh!

It's been a long, long time, yeah!
(stir it, stir it, stir it together)
Since I got you on my mind. (ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh) Oh-oh!
Now you are here (stir it, stir it, stir it together), I said,
it's so clear
There's so much we could do, baby, (ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh)
Just me and you.

Come on and stir it up; ..., little darlin'!
Stir it up; come on, baby!
Come on and stir it up, yeah!
Little darlin', stir it up! O-oh!

I'll push the wood (stir it, stir it, stir it together),
then I blaze ya fire;
Then I'll satisfy your heart's desire. (ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh)
Said, I stir it every (stir it, stir it, stir it together),
every minute:
All you got to do, baby, (ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh)
Is keep it in, eh!

(Stir it up) Oh, little darlin',
Stir it up; ..., baby!
Come on and stir it up, oh-oh-oh!
Little darlin', stir it up! Wo-oh! Mm, now, now.

Quench me when I'm thirsty;
Come on and cool me down, baby, when I'm hot. (ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh)
Your recipe is, - darlin' - is so tasty,
When you show and stir your pot. (ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh)

So: stir it up, oh!
Little darlin', stir it up; wo, now!
Come on and stir it up, oh-ah!
Little darlin', stir it up!
---
[Guitar solo]
---
Oh, little darlin', stir it up. Come on, babe!
Come on and stir it up, wo-o-a!
Little darlin', stir it up! Stick with me, baby!
Come on, come on and stir it up, oh-oh!
Little darlin', stir it up.

Anyway since this is a Bob Marley thread, I guess something about his son is in order.. right..
Ziggy Marley's voice was used for the one of the jellyfish characters (one of the two portuguese man o' war goons) who kept electrocuting Oscar in 'Sharks'

mata da tsegumi.  i deliberately opened my thread
with this track so as portray the legend as not only
freedom fighting singer but also a romantic fellow.

this is proved by his so many extra marital affairs
among the famous is the Miss World 1976 Cindy Breakspeare
producing love child and well known reggae artist Damion
"Junior Gong" Marley.

so please spare me  ;D   ;D

....war....war......war...
....war in the east...war in the west.....war up north....war down south.......rumours of the war......
....the remaining battle of freedom......
....to be pursued......
....we africans will fightttt......
....we find it necessary......
....and we know we shall win......
....as we have confidence......
....in the victory....
....a good over evil......
....yeah......
....repeatX

That was my best track from the Bob collections. I like his songs. But honestly, am not happy when the late marley died without setting his foot on african soil. It would have been better if he had seen his ancestral home even once before he died. Danborno, your opening remarks show that you may be a rastafarian" ;D. Is it true that marley has never visited any african country before he died?

No Waduz, i am sure you dont mean it, because rastafarian
is an african religion that regards Ras Tafari as divine, ni kuma
musulmi ne gon gon tun kafin zuwan Dan Fodio  ;D.

As to wether Bob has never visited any african country, it is not
true, because in 1978 he visited Ethiopia, he stayed in Addis
Ababa.  During his stay in Ethiopia he lived on a communal farm
named Shashamani and was feted by the Marxist Ethiopian
government at the time.

He also performed in Gabon, and also performed so many concerts
in a view to raise funds to African Countries like Namibia,  the
struggle in Zimbabwe etc.

In an interview, the legendary has this to say on Africa:

" Too many people going on like England and America are in the world.
But there is a better life in Africa. I feel for Africa,
I want to go there and write some music. Instead of New York
Why can't we go to Ghana? Go to Nigeria-meet some people, learn
A new language. You see, people are only seeking material vanity.
Black People are so stubborn. They stay here because white people give
` Them a big hotel and a floor to vacuum."

So, as you can see, Marley died with Africa in his heart.

lets enjoy this song.

Africa Unite' cause the children wanna come home
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Africa unite' cause we're moving out of Babylon
And we are grooving to our Father's land. Yeah
