my intention is to put up a thread for us to discuss
parenthood.  i am not scaring away the barchelors
in our midst, members like legandary waz, nuruddeen,
their chairman GGNK, including muhsin and bundle
of others shouldn't feel so rejected as you can also
tap from the much available experiences of parents
in this forum.

okay, lets kick off with something that happenes in
every house:-

my two grown up kids one 6 yrs and the other 4 yrs
are always fighting sai kace kishiyoyi masu ganin
hanjin juna - each time i tried coming in between
them, they raise new issues upon issue.  in ance
wa karamar ta dauko wani abu, her sister will also
go and bring same thing and in the cause fight will
start - kai jama'a, how do i go about this one?

It is only natural for Kids to be like that.
The advice is never to show preferential treatment and kada a dinga yi musu bulala ko da yaushe cos they'll get used to it.

But tunda an ce n bani da experience i'll leave the rest to masu experience,su Anty Husnaa.

Hmnn? Okay, take this; My son (he will be two come february) today asked his mother to help raise him up to pick up something, tunda hannun shi bazai kai ba. The mother asked him how much will he pay? He said "biyai" (meaning naira biyar). When the mother replied that five naira is too small and so the offer should be upped, he just gave her this look, said "A'a", and promptly drew a stool, climbed atop it in an effort to reach up. Of course he fell down and we all had a good laugh!!.

Now, goga, does that sound like a story a bach'lar would tell? ;D

DB I think u have to exercise a little patience with your kids. It's one thing that we all experienced during our childhood days. When u are at that age, u never know what u are doing until you are grown up-full blown! After all, that's the beauty in childhood period. The way kids behave is no different from chicken at their tender age and "chickenful" exuberance period. You may see that a mother Hen with her chickens going and feeding on grains collectively, within a shortwhile( some seconds or a twinkle of an eye), you see a chicken chasing his/her brethren chickens just for the sake of tsokana and before you know they quickly reconcile and forget. So that's the way the cookie crumbles brother. Laughs.

o try and fail is atleast to learn. That will save one the inestimable loss of what might have been (positive or negative).

The survival gene is very strong in all species and it is perfectly normal for children to be competitive and try to get the most all the time which causes the little fights. As we grow up we become a little more sophisticated and modify this behaviour but even now as an old man the effect of being one of a large family is still with me. I can't help noticing if everybody is getting the same amount on their plates.

wai, ikon Allah, kura tace wa kare maye, imagine this
honourable internationally accredited barchelor of the
year telling me this - i am not surprised at all.

here is another case:

my little daughter, the second to the last one is in the habit
of sucking her finger, the most worrying thing is that she
sucks her index finger (pointing finger) instead of the thumb.
